School Vision

From the Principal

Good afternoon parents and carers,

What a busy term it has already been, with lots of fun and engaging events being undertaken so far, and many more to come.

Faction Carnival

Our Faction Carnival last week was a great success. It was a very close contest this year. Congratulations to Storm faction again on yet another win for 2023.  I would like to thank all of our students for having so much fun and for demonstrating the ‘Madeley Way’ of showing respectful behaviour on the day. Additionally, thank you to the staff for their hard work in making it an incredibly successful day. Also, I would like to extend my gratitude to Mr Mario Taddei for his efforts, hard work and flawless organisation of the day. Lastly, I would like to thank the parents for their attendance on the day in support of the students.   

Book Week

We held our Book Week Parade yesterday which was a wonderful display of many fun and imaginative costumes, representing the myriad of the students’ favourite books.  It was another fabulous event. The Book Fair was a huge success with the school raising $6,686 including $2,103 going towards the purchase of library books. I would like to express my thanks to Mrs Maree Jones our Library Officer for her amazing organisation of the Book Fair.  

Science Week

Next week, we celebrate Science Week.  The theme for this year is INNOVATION.  The students will be hands on with lots of interactive science experiments. It should be a fun and informative week.

Open Night

Madeley PS staff would like to invite all parents to our annual Open Night. The evening is for the purpose of engaging parents in a journey of what our students have been learning this term.  This is such a positive experience for teachers, parents and students. The event will take place on Wednesday 30th August from 4:00pm – 6:00pm in each child’s classroom and specialist areas.

The P&C will have a delicious selection of dinner meals you can pre-order through Qkr!, to collect on the night between 4.00 and 5.30pm from the school canteen. Keep an eye out for further information from the P&C.

Parking

Parking on the grass areas around the school grounds is not permitted.  Parking is only permitted in marked bays around the school. 

Additionally, a reminder to all parents that the staff carpark is not a Kiss and Ride nor for parking. The Kiss and Ride is right outside of the staff carpark on Martindale Ave and it is this location that parents are permitted to drop off students, if dropping at the front of the school.  The staff carpark is only permitted for access by staff and other visitors to the school, who are not family members or carers of students.

Before School

Students should not arrive at school prior to 8.00am. All students who are arriving at school prior to 8.20am, MUST wait outside the Administration Office where they are supervised. This is not a space for ball sports or games, students are expected to SIT and wait quietly until classrooms are open.

Parents are asked to keep students at home until 8.20am, if possible. This supervision is only for students who cannot remain at home, and the expectation is they will sit quietly until classrooms open at 8.20am.

Mobile Phones

Please remember that students are discouraged from bringing mobile phones to school. Please ensure that if your child must bring a phone to school, that the Mobile Phone Policy Documentation has been completed and signed, and that the phone is handed to the classroom teacher at the start of the day to be locked away, as per all WA public schools. It can be collected from the classroom teacher at the end of the day. All smart watches are to be on airplane mode throughout the school day.

Enrolments for 2024

The accuracy of our enrolment information, when planning for next year, is of utmost importance. If your child/ren will not be attending Madeley PS for 2024, we kindly ask that you email our front office or phone 9306 6900 as soon as possible to let us know.  Additionally, if you know of anyone wishing to join us for 2024, please ask them to contact the front office as soon as possible. P&C News

Sports Carnival wrap:

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who assisted at last week's sports carnival for our sausage sizzle. We raised a total of $575 on the day, which would also not have been possible without the generosity from ID Athletic, who generously provided us with the sausages.

Open Night Wednesday August 30th:

Our delicious meals where such a hit last time, so we will again be making these available for open night on August 30th. Pre orders via  Qkr! as of today, until Monday 28^th August 8.30am. Reminders will be posted on our FaceBook page to make sure no one misses out.

Fathers and Others Stall August 30 & 31:

For the special Fathers and Others in our lives, the stall for little gifts will be available on Wednesday 30^th and Thursday 31^st August.  Stay tuned for upcoming details via our FaceBook page.

Entertainment Book:

Entertainment books are now available. Our P&C receives 20% of the sales with every Madeley Primary purchase . A great way to spend and save with thousands of local vendors to choose from for 12months.

Save the Date - School Disco Thursday 19^th October & Drive-In Thursday 14^th December 

We have 2 save the dates coming up, one for what will be yet another fun filled night for our school's disco which will be held on the Thursday 19^th October and then again for the last day of school on Thursday 14^th December for some drive-in fun.

Next Meeting 6^th Sept:

We always encourage current and new members to join our P&C. If you want to hear about what is happening in our school community and/or contribute to any of the wonderful activities we have on the calendar for the rest of the year, please join us on Wednesday September 6^thh at 7.30pm in the staff room.
