School Vision

From the Principal

Good afternoon parents and carers,

Term Three is always a busy and productive term and this one has been no exception.  This term the students have learnt so much, been incredibly active and had loads of fun along the way. School holidays are only one week away. We wish everyone a wonderful and restful holiday break.

Students Leaving at the end of the school year

It is of critical importance for us to be informed if a student is leaving as small changes to our student numbers can make a big difference to the way we structure our classes for the following year. Therefore, if your child is leaving the school, could you please send us an email at Madeley.PS@education.wa.edu.au or inform your child’s class teacher as soon as possible.  Thank you.

Interschool Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to all students who participated in yesterday’s Interschool Carnival. The students were all very well behaved and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the day .

Bushfire Plan

Due to our proximity to bushland on our western border, we are required to have a Bushfire Plan.  Please find the attached map of the evacuation route of students and the evacuation meeting point where staff and students will meet, in the unlikely event of a bushfire emergency. We will continue to have evacuation and fire drills in the future to rehearse and refine our emergency management procedures.

Term 4

School holidays start on Sat 23^rd Sept and students are due back to school on Monday 9^th Oct.  The School Development Days for next term are on Friday 20^th Oct and Friday 15^th Dec.   

School Security During the Holidays

We rely on the community for support to keep our school secure and safe during the holiday period.  We ask parents to keep an eye on our school during the holiday period and report any suspicious behaviour to Education Security on 9264 4632 or Police 131 444.  The Education Security phone number is on signage on fencing around the outside of the school.

Playgroup News

KidSport enables eligible Western Australian children aged 5 to 18 years to participate in community sport by offering them financial assistance of up to $300 per financial year towards club fees.

Eligibility

All Western Australian children aged 5 to 18 with a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

Changes to the KidSport program were announced on 22 August 2023, with the KidSport policy updated to include:

• increase to $300 funding per eligible child, per financial year
• uniforms and equipment included in the program
• easier access to KidSport for asylum seekers, refugees, humanitarian entrants, and children in care.

Open Night 2023

This Year’s Open Night Art Exhibition was a massive success. It was so lovely to see all the beautiful art work on display for all to see and appreciate! We sure have been super busy here in the art room. What a talented bunch we have here at Madeley!

Open Night Wrap Up

Thank you to our community for again showing wonderful support during our open night. The meals were absolutely delicious - we raised a whopping total of $1,864.

The success of the night wouldn't have been possible without the following people, who not only helped out behind the counter throughout the night, but were the main drivers of the night's success: Joe, Bec, Giao, Cheryl, Dragana,  Sarah, Rayne, Carli, Alana, Amanda and Andre. 

With a very special mention to both the lovely Sheree and Carli who helped by donating the most delicious of Rocky Roads.

We thank you all so very much.

Fathers and Others Stall 

Thank you to all the volunteers for giving their time, and a big shout out to Alana for organising such beautiful and heartfelt gifts for this year's Fathers and Others Stall. It was such a pleasure having the children of Madeley Primary showcase their beautiful manners and how much joy they had picking something special to help make Fathers Day truly special this year.

We have 2 save the dates coming up, one for what will be, yet another fun filled night for our school's disco which will be held on the Thursday 19th October, and then again for the last day of school on the Thursday 14th Dec for some drive in movie fun.
