It is hard to believe we are already in Week 6, Term 2. Students and teachers are all very busy completing units of works and undertaking assessments prior to our reporting period.
P&C Day
Week 4 saw us celebrating P&C Day WA. We would like to share our appreciation and give thanks to our amazing Madeley P&C for their continued hard work and significant contributions to our school. We encourage all parents to support our P&C in anyway they can, to ease the load of our amazing team of helpers.
Kindy 2026 Enrolments
Kindy 2026 enrolments close on Friday 25 July, which is the end of week 1 next term. If you know of anyone whose child is born between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022, please let them know that enrolments close soon. As Kindergarten is a non-compulsory year at school, we make plans for how classes are structured based on the number of students enrolled as of the closing date. Therefore, lodging enrolments before the closing date is of paramount importance.
School Photos
School Photos will take place throughout Week 9 of this term. Please ensure your children are in full school uniform for these.
Dog Reminder
This is a reminder that no dogs, other than certified Assistance Dogs, are to be inside the school gates, regardless of size or if they are being carried or walking. We ask that any dogs that are coming to pick up or drop off remain a distance from the gates where students are exiting.
After School Reminder
School gates will be closed 15 minutes after the school siren. We would like to remind parents to ensure they are supervising their children within the school after the bell until the gates are closed.
Staff Parking
Please don’t access the staff carpark at anytime for collection of students. This is for staff only and causes a safety concerns when parents are driving through at student pick up.
Uniforms
As the days are getting colder and our students begin wearing warmer clothing, we would like to remind families that winter jackets need to be either the Madeley Uniform navy fleece jacket or a plain navy jacket, free of any labels or logos. Plain navy blue leggings or track pants can be worn on the bottom. The Madeley Primary School uniform can be purchased from Wanneroo Uniforms. Further details of our dress code and uniform shop hours can be found on our website.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Greenwood College Specialist Program
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We would like to remind you that applications for our Specialist Aviation and Specialist Volleyball programs will be closing on 13 June.
These outstanding programs offer students a unique opportunity to pursue their passions while gaining valuable skills and experiences. These programs are also open to students who reside outside of our local intake area, so if your child has a passion for Aviation or Volleyball, we encourage you to apply! If your child is interested in learning more, please follow the links below to explore what each program has to offer:
It’s been such a joy to witness the kindness and care our students have been showing one another lately. Whether it’s helping a friend in need, sharing a smile, or including someone in play, these small acts are making a big difference in our school community. It’s so wonderful to be part of a school where compassion and connection are growing every day.
As your school chaplain, I’m here to walk alongside our students whether it’s offering a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or simply being present. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can support your child in any way.
Encouraging Kindness at Home Here are a few simple ways to nurture kindness in everyday family life:
🌟 Model it: Let your children see you being kind to others—whether it’s a friendly hello, a thank-you, or helping someone in need.
💬 Talk about it: Share stories of kindness at the dinner table or ask, “What’s one kind thing you did or saw today?”
📝 Create a kindness jar: Write down kind acts on slips of paper and read them together at the end of the week.
🎨 Get creative: Make cards or drawings for neighbours, friends, or family members “just because.”
❤️ Celebrate effort: Praise kind behaviour when you see it, even in small moments.
Together, we can continue to grow a community where kindness is not just encouraged—but celebrated.
With kindness, Jay East School Chaplain

Some conflicts between children are a normal part of growing up and are to be expected. These conflicts or fights between equals and single incidents are not considered bullying, even though they may be upsetting and need to be resolved. Identifying bullying can sometimes be difficult. Bullying is often conducted out of sight of teachers. Children are often reluctant to report bullying.
Bullying can be devastating for a person’s confidence and self-esteem. Children and young people need lots of love and support if they are being bullied. They also need to know that action will be taken to prevent any further bullying.
